ABOUT

My name is Trudie Adams and I am the creator of Craigie House Interiors.  I work from my steading in the garden and look out over the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside.  Pheasants, hares and deer are regular visitors - crossing the fields and sometimes even the garden.  Combining a love of textiles, sewing and wildlife I create bespoke home wares.  From lamps to fill that forgotten corner of your sitting room to a doorstop to look up at you while holding open a heavy door - you never know what you will find, there is always something different.

I am a fabric artist working mainly with Tweeds and linen as well as an array of beautiful fabrics from my stash.  I love animals so they feature a lot in my designs, usually there is a Scottish theme too.  My animals are finished with flowers, seed heads and leaves.  Each design is created using an embelisher and finished with free motion embroidery.  I just love being able to draw with my sewing machiine and enjoy seemingly endless different effects this allows.

Most of my designs are made into bespoke lampshades in an array of sizes.  Of course no lampshade is complete without a base and that's where my husband comes in.... Here at Craigie we make our own lamp bases from Whisky staves -  each Barrell sourced from local Scottish distilleries.

Pet Portraits

Immortalising your beloved pet in a piece of art!  We know how precious they are to us...

So I do commissions of your favourite pets on a lampshade or if you prefer as a framed picture.  Please look at my Pet Portrait page to see all the options.

My Studio is always open by appointment and I open for several weekends throughout the year that are advertised in advance.  So if you would like to call in and see all my latest designs then you are very welcome.
